PARIS – (July 25, 2016) –TechViz (www.techviz.net), a global provider of immersive 3D virtual prototyping software solutions, will be joined by Canon U.S.A., Inc, a leader in digital imaging solutions, who will show the MREAL System for Mixed Reality, a visualization platform for enterprise at SIGGRAPH 2016 in booth No.661.  The MREAL Display MD-10, released just this month, is the latest generation of the MREAL technology which seamlessly combines the real and virtual worlds for an immersive experience. The MREAL system has been adopted by leading aerospace firms, automotive companies, universities, and enterprises across a range of fields.  At SIGGRAPH, Canon will preview an early version of an MREAL Plug-In for TechViz XL at the TechViz booth.

TechViz’s TechViz VR™ software package – specifically dedicated to Head-Mounted Displays, allows users to display 3D models directly from their native desktop applications on any stereo 3D display, including the MREAL system, and works with more than 200 professional 3D applications, including Dassault Systemes’ CATIA, PTC Creo, Siemens PLM and Autodesk. The Canon MREAL system’s interactive and immersive Mixed Reality capabilities combined with TechViz’s capabilities and software applications gives users the ability to visualize a 3D model from 3D CAD, PLM and simulation applications in a real environment, while also seeing real objects and tools alongside the visualization. The combined technologies enable intuitive, real-time interaction through the MREAL Display MD-10’s enhanced head-mounted display that is responsive to the user’s actions as they engage with photo-realistic 3D objects in a Mixed Reality environment.

The combined TechViz-Canon solution enables enterprise customers to collaborate using applications and designs they work with on a daily basis, seeing not only the virtual content but also each other and their actual environment in real time, and at realistic size and scale.  Immersed in Mixed Reality, users are able to interact with both the designs and each other to reach new levels of collaboration and communication.

“Mixed reality enables complete user flexibility and creativity, “said Alberto Gabaï, TechViz CEO. “ We are excited to develop a new relationship with Canon and continue to empower innovative freedom, while giving users the ability to virtually evaluate final products. This visibility into the end result expands how organizations can leverage both TechViz and Canon capabilities.”

“By joining the Canon MREAL system’s interactive three dimensional environment with TechViz’s software capabilities, users will have the capability to take part in a fully immersive, responsive and collaborative experience to help suit their needs.  Leading enterprises are looking for next-generation visualization capabilities, and we are excited about the possibilities for this new integration,” said Toyo Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc.

SIGGRAPH is an event that brings together over 20,000 of computer graphics and interactive technology professionals for the industry’s most respected technical and creative programs focusing on research, science, art, animation, music, gaming, interactivity, education, and the web.
